Trip Report: Canyon to Coast Trail

We opted to start at the near the eastern trail terminus at Ferry Road. There were plenty of spots to park along the road here, even on a Saturday. The trail is a wide, level gravel road – perfect for families and bikes with chariots attached, like ours. I do enjoy a good dyke trail- they are typically surrounded by flat farmland so afford fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and landscape. This trail was no different, and as it parallels the river we had nice views of the Fraser on the right and the Cascade Range on the left as we travelled along.

Unfortunately for us, the chain on Jacob’s bike broke when we reached McSween Road, so that was the end of our adventure for the day. I left Luca and Jacob to hang out at the side of the road (and was glad I’d packed extra blankets into the chariot as it was the middle of winter!) and cycled as fast as I could back to get the car and pick them up. We hope to come back and complete the rest of this section of the trail through to Island 22 regional Park at some point, as the section we completed was lovely and we are keen to see more.

Exploring the rest of the trail
